Build a thriving forest beneath the soil in Undergrove. Each player guides mature Douglas fir trees and spreads seedlings into a shared landscape of mushroom tiles, using the hidden relationships between roots and fungi to support the next generation.
Mushrooms exchange essential nutrients with connected seedlings. Players activate tiles to move carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium through their network, then use those resources to establish roots and help seedlings grow into successful trees. Every connection can benefit several players, so placement affects the whole forest.
The modular mushroom layout changes from game to game, while goals and bonus tiles create different priorities. Players must decide when to activate a valuable network, when to expand into new fungi and how to build the most rewarding symbiotic relationships before final scoring. Solo cards support individual play.
