Fisheries, rivers, caravans and barbarian attacks introduce different goals and new uses for the islands terrain. The Traders and Barbarians scenario combines several ideas into a larger transport challenge, while the included official two player rules make it possible to enjoy CATAN with a smaller group.

The Sixth Edition presentation matches the current CATAN line, but the box is an expansion rather than a complete game. It supplies scenario boards, cards, pieces and rules that are combined with the settlements, roads, resources and other components from CATAN Sixth Edition.
