Each player has their own board, with a transparent illustrated layer over a dark background. When the round begins, everyone looks for the same hidden character or item on their own scene, using the white spotlight on their magic flashlight to reveal details that are otherwise difficult to see. When the timer runs out, players secretly set their dial to show how many they think they found.

The more hidden pictures players find, the further their pawns move toward the finish line, but the Moon pawn is chasing everyone. If the Moon catches a player and the team has no rush tokens left, the group loses. With five round games, several difficulty levels and both cooperative and competitive ways to play, Spotlight is a bright, fast and family friendly hidden object game for children and adults.
