The Great Encyclopedia Zoologica has burst open, scattering animals from alpacas to platypuses. Players become zoologists trying to identify their own hidden animal before the collection descends into chaos.
Each player receives an animal card that everyone else can see. Comparative questions about size, speed, appearance, habitat and behaviour prompt the group to discuss which player best matches the selected characteristic, providing clues without directly naming any animals.
Once guessing begins, players place tokens on the animal they believe they represent. Correct early deductions earn valuable points, while incorrect guesses reveal useful information about which animals are not in play.
- Your animal is hidden from you: Every player can see the other animal identities but must deduce their own
- Comparative questions create clues: Players discuss who best matches a characteristic without directly stating the animal names
- Group voting assigns evidence: The player judged to fit the question receives that card as a visible clue for later deductions
- Incorrect guesses narrow the possibilities: Failed answer tokens remain on the board and identify animals that are not currently assigned
- Early deductions score more: Correctly identifying your animal before the other zoologists provides the strongest reward
