Help shape a new Barcelona beyond its old medieval walls in Barcelona. Set during the nineteenth century, the game follows the development of the Eixample district under Ildefons Cerda and the transformation of the growing city through housing, public works and Modernisme architecture.
Players construct buildings, create streets, extend tram lines and establish public services while managing the needs of the citizens moving into the expanding neighbourhoods. Each decision changes the shared city and can open valuable opportunities for later development.
Three scoring phases reward progress during the game before a final evaluation determines the winner. The design combines tile placement, network building and variable scoring in a historical strategy game that asks players to balance their own plans with the shape of Barcelona emerging on the central board.
