Manage a prestigious gallery and compete to profit from a constantly changing art market in Modern Art, Reiner Knizia’s classic auction game. Buy paintings from rival curators, sell works from your own hand and judge which artists will become the most valuable.

Each artwork specifies one of five auction formats, including open bidding, a single round of offers, hidden bids and fixed-price sales. Successful players must adjust their approach to each format while avoiding the temptation to overpay for fashionable artists.

At the end of each round, only works by the three most frequently auctioned artists have value. Their results also contribute to future rounds, allowing an artist’s reputation and the value of previously purchased paintings to grow throughout the game.
