You are engaged in cryptozoology, searching for the traces of extraordinary creatures and proving their existence. They really exist in this world but learned to hide from humans very well. Your task is not only to locate these unique species but also to provide them with a safe habitat. Various cities are ready to settle some creatures in their local zoos, for the rest you are building a unique wildlife sanctuary.

Travel into the wilderness in search of creatures that most people believe are only legends in Cryptic Nature. Each player becomes a cryptozoologist tracking unusual beings across varied terrain, trying to capture them safely and find an appropriate new home for every discovery.

Clues, terrain and dice guide the search while assistants help you build a more capable expedition. Some cryptids can be accepted by nearby cities, but others must be placed in your own reserve, making space and enclosure planning part of the challenge. Contracts and orders offer further direction as experience and money open new possibilities.

The goal is to become the most respected researcher by completing successful expeditions and managing the creatures you find. Personal boards, distinct cryptozoologist figures and a separate poacher system support a detailed strategy game that mixes exploration, resource management and the satisfaction of assembling a growing collection of cryptids.
