Hadrians Wall Board Game Roman Fort Flip and Write

In Hadrian’s Wall, players take on the role of a Roman General, placed in charge of constructing a milecastle and bordering wall. Over 6 years (rounds), players will construct their fort and wall, man the defenses, and attract civilians by building services and providing entertainment – all while defending the honour of the Roman Empire from the waring Picts. The player that can accumulate the most Renown, Piety, Valour, and Discipline, whilst avoiding Disdain, will prove to the Emperor they are the model Roman citizen and be crowned Legatus Legionis!

Take command of a Roman milecastle on the northern frontier in Hadrians Wall. Set in AD 122, the game asks players to build a section of the wall and its supporting fort, strengthen the defences and develop the civilian community living alongside the garrison.

Across six rounds, fate cards provide workers and resources that are marked across two large personal sheets. Soldiers can man the cohorts and defend against Pict attacks, while builders, servants and civilians support construction, production, trade, entertainment and other parts of life around the fort.

Completed buildings and tracks open new actions and scoring opportunities, creating a dense network of choices from a compact set of resources. Final standing is measured through Renown, Piety, Valour and Discipline, with Disdain reducing the result when the frontier has been poorly managed.
