Enter a neighbourhood contest of living hedges and mischievous garden magic in Hedge Mage. Each player grows a personal maze from polyomino hedge tiles, shaping routes around gnomes, tunnels and strange springshrooms. The aim is to protect valuable residents while creating openings that a rival mage may struggle to defend.
Mages move through the changing gardens to animate gnomes and steal them from neighbouring properties. Every hedge placement therefore serves both an offensive and defensive purpose: a wall may slow an intruder, complete a useful route or change how a mage approaches the next target. Movement tokens, enchantment cards and other magical effects add further tactical choices to the developing maze.
The gardens remain connected to the wider competition, so players must watch more than their own board. A strong turn can improve one maze while setting up an incursion into another, and favourite gnome goals encourage attention to particular members of the collection. The player who handles these overlapping routes and rivalries most effectively earns the strongest final score.
