Every dynasty controls five leaders with different roles: Governor, Soldier, Farmer, Trader and Artisan. Placing those leaders and their corresponding tiles is the heart of the game. A carefully developed state can create new scoring opportunities, while a well timed move can trigger a war or spark a peasant revolt that disrupts an opponents plans.
The board develops into a shared landscape of growing states, so expansion cannot be planned in isolation. Borders shift, leaders compete for influence and pagodas become important symbols of control. The interaction between placement, development and conflict gives every decision lasting consequences.
