Become a daring inventor during the American Civil War in Infernal Machine Dawn of Submarine Warfare. This solitaire game follows the race to design, finance and operate an experimental submarine for either the Union or the Confederacy while conventional naval warfare continues overhead.

Recruit investors, mechanics, journeymen and sailors, then spend money and scarce materials to build and test a workable Fishboat. Progress brings difficult tradeoffs between reliability, secrecy, crew quality and the pressure to prove that the vessel can complete a dangerous military mission.

Once launched, the action shifts to navigation, crew tasks, malfunctions and combat beneath hostile waters. Individual missions provide focused challenges, while campaign play links development and operations into a longer story about ambition, engineering and the uncertain dawn of submarine warfare.
