Compete to brew the best potions and become top of the class! Handle dangerous ingredients and drink your concoctions to unleash their magical power. This new edition is 100% compatible with all previous expansions but adds helpful new components.

Sit the final exam at the Horribilorum Sorcery Academy in Potion Explosion 2nd Edition. Each player is a student collecting colourful ingredients from the marble dispenser, completing potion recipes and trying to earn the most points before the examination comes to an end.

On your turn, remove one ingredient marble from the dispenser. If marbles of the same colour then collide, they explode and are collected as well, with further collisions able to create a chain reaction. Place the gathered ingredients into matching spaces on your potion tiles until each recipe is complete.

Finished potions score points and can be consumed for useful magical effects, creating a choice between saving them as achievements and using their powers at the right moment. Completing sets of potions can also earn skill tokens, so efficient marble selection and careful timing both matter on the way to the Student of the Year award.
