The sourcebook provides guidance for haven-based campaigns, new fallout results and ways to create or reinforce bonds with residents. Four new types of angel bring dangerous emissaries of the Heart into the settlement, forcing characters to defend what they have built as its stability begins to fracture.

Sanctum shifts the focus from constant travel to the consequences of belonging somewhere in the undercity. It gives players personal reasons to protect a community while providing the Gamesmaster with threats, relationships and campaign developments that can grow from the haven itself.
