A spatial auction system determines where players can build. Every bid is represented by one of your limited structures, forcing rivals to decide whether to raise the offer or withdraw and build elsewhere. Winning an important site can establish influence across an island or faction, but committing a valuable structure too early may limit your options later.
Public and secret objectives provide different scoring opportunities, while patrons and personal wonders create additional strategic paths. The modular board and variable setup change the shape of the city from one game to the next.
