Lead an ambitious faction across an alternate history Eastern Europe in Scythe. Farming communities live beneath the shadow of the mysterious Factory, while heavily armed mechs patrol a landscape rich in resources and opportunity. Each player develops an asymmetric faction, building an economy while expanding influence across the shared map.
Turns are driven by paired actions on the player mat, encouraging efficient combinations of production, movement, construction, deployment, enlistment and upgrades. Each faction and player mat combination creates a different economic puzzle, while encounters and the Factory offer opportunities beyond the actions available at home.
Combat is possible but costly, so strength often comes from controlling space and forcing rivals to reconsider their plans. The game ends when a player places their sixth achievement star, but final wealth depends on popularity, territory and accumulated resources as well as completed achievements.
