The Initiative Cooperative Puzzle Board Game

Step into a coded mystery in The Initiative. In 1994, four teenagers discover an unusual game at a yard sale and soon realise that its secrets are connected to their own lives, drawing players into a cooperative story told through puzzles, missions and an illustrated comic book.

Before each mission, the group reads the next part of the comic and learns what the characters are facing. Players then use action cards to move around the board, collect clues and decode a hidden phrase, balancing the need to share information with the pressure of completing the objective.

The campaign contains linked missions, but its rules remain approachable and the story can be paused between sessions. Secret cards reveal further puzzles beyond the main narrative, giving one to four players an experience that blends board game decisions, codebreaking and visual storytelling.
