Break out of a vast space station and recover your impounded starship in Escape the Dark Sector. Each player controls a member of the stranded crew, combining specialist strengths, equipment and tactical decisions as a randomly assembled mission unfolds across three acts. Large illustrated chapter cards reveal the next location, threat or encounter one at a time, creating a shared science fiction story with very little setup.

Every chapter asks the group to decide how to respond before dice and item cards resolve the danger. Ballistic, energy and explosive ammunition have separate dice, while crew and chapter dice drive the compact combat system. Weapons, cybernetics and other equipment help the crew survive cyborg guards, hostile organisms and the station's other hazards, but resources and health must be managed collectively.

To win, the crew must complete the entire mission deck and defeat its final boss. Every character must survive, so a single loss ends the mission for everyone. Random chapter combinations, crew choices and equipment make repeat escapes play differently while preserving the game's atmospheric storybook structure.
